Prior to his work in the Legislature, Representative Ken Skowronski was a city alderman in Franklin from 2005-2014. Beforehand, he worked in the construction and remodeling industry for 53 years as a general contractor, and he also served as past president of the National and Milwaukee Area Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).

Representative Skowronski is very active in the community serving on many civic boards. He is the current president & life member of the Polish Heritage Alliance (Polish Center) as well as an active volunteer at Polish Fest. He is a member and past president of the Franklin Lions Club, a member of the Franklin Seniors Association, and a member of the Deputy Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He also taught DNR Hunter Safety courses for 19 years. 

Representative Skowronski served in the Wisconsin Air National Guard 128th Refueling Wing from 1956 - 1962 and was honorably discharged.  He is always pursing issues affecting veterans and he currently sits as chairman on the Veterans and Military Affairs Committee.
