Dear Friend,

On Wednesday, April 17th from 5:30 pm to 7 pm I will be joined by Department of Health Services Secretary Designee Andrea Palm and local state elected officials for an open discussion about Medicaid expansion in Wisconsin and the critical role it plays in Governor Evers' budget. Expanding Medicaid would cover 82,000 Wisconsinites and attract $1.6 billion of new federal match dollars to the state. These funds would help us provide countless services to the people of Wisconsin, including proposals in Governor Evers' budget, such as:

      • Extending postpartum coverage for mothers on Medicaid from 60 days to 1 year
      • Increasing the dental reimbursement rate for dental care providers who serve low-income individuals and individuals with disabilities
      • Additional funding for substance abuse treatment and support, and mental health services

It is long past time that Wisconsin accept these federal dollars that rightfully belong to the taxpayers of this state, and I hope you will join us for this incredibly important discussion.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact my office with any legislative questions or concerns.
