Meyers Statement on Governor Evers’ Visit to Ashland
MADISON – The EverGrow Learning Center is a brand new childcare center that offers six classrooms as well as the Ashland Area Lions Club Indoor Play Room and recently held an open house and ribbon cutting event. Governor Tony Evers was in Ashland on Monday and visited the facility, along with local elected officials. State Representative Beth Meyers issued the following statement regarding Governor Tony Evers visit to Ashland today to visit the EverGrow Learning Center:
“I was honored to stand with Governor Tony Evers, Ashland Mayor Deb Lewis, EverGrow Learning Center Director Carol Beirl and staff to visit this exciting new facility. EverGrow will offer affordable and accessible childcare to local families that either want to remain or come back home to build a life in Northern Wisconsin,” stated Meyers.
The EverGrow Learning Center will be able to provide childcare services to 94 children and their families in the Chequamegon Bay region. EverGrow will address challenges faced by residents of Ashland and surrounding communities who are struggling to secure childcare. It will also help to attract young talent to the region who will need quality childcare. Economic development today is as much or more about talent attraction and retention and community engagement as it is about business recruitment.
“I applaud the efforts of EverGrow for their commitment to Northern Wisconsin. There has been a tremendous amount of local support from numerous stakeholders and donors to make EverGrow a reality, and I applaud everyone who has helped along the way,” said Meyers.
