Rep. Meyers Recognizes Student Music Award Recipients

Recently, Rep. Beth Meyers visited three schools in the 74th Assembly District to recognize exceptional music students. Meyers awarded Wisconsin State Legislative Citations—signed by Rep. Meyers and Sen. Janet Bewley—to Taylor Vyskocil of Ashland High School for cello; Jacob Sauld for choir and Matthew Vross for band from Washburn High School; and Dominick Mabie of Phillips Middle School for choir.

These talented students were all recipients of the Wisconsin School Music Association State Honors Music Project. The students auditioned and were chosen out of more than 1,000 applicants across our state for this honor.

“Music education is so important to students throughout Wisconsin,” said Meyers. “I was honored to recognize these outstanding, hard-working students in my district for their achievements in the arts. I’d also like to thank the supportive teachers and staff who made their successes possible.”
