STEVENS POINT — State Rep. Katrina Shankland will host a student-debt town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Room 101 of the Collins Classroom Center building at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Shankland will host a roundtable discussion to find possible solutions to the student debt problem, according to a news release. Students are encouraged to share their stories.
“Over the years, steady cuts to public funding for higher education have led to skyrocketing tuition and mountains of debt for students and families,” Shankland said in a release. “We must do more to minimize the burden of student loans, for the benefit of our graduates and Wisconsin’s economy.”
