I am a lifelong resident of the Eau Claire area and graduated from North High School in 1990. After graduating, I enlisted in the U.S. Army, eventually becoming stationed as a medic in the 397th Engineer Battalion in Eau Claire.

After a career in the Army, I worked for several years in the private sector before attending Chippewa Valley Technical College where I earned a degree in Police Science in 2001. I was elected Student Government President and served as a District Ambassador to the college.

I worked as a police officer with the Spring Valley and  Elmwood Police Departments until 2002, when I earned a full-time opportunity with the Altoona Police Department. I became the first officer outside of the Eau Claire County Sheriff's Department to join the SWAT team. In 2009, I was promoted by the department to be an investigator, before becoming the acting chief of police in April 2011, finally being appointed police and fire chief in October 2013. I am a current part-time police officer for the Cadott Police Department.

I believe public service is all about "Putting Our Community First" and am honored to represent the 68th district in the Assembly.

My wife Vicki and I reside in Altoona and have four beautiful children.
