Rep. Summerfield Statement on State of the State Address

Chippewa Valley lawmaker excited to work on shared priorities of  public education & workforce development

Madison…Rep. Rob Summerfield (R-Bloomer) issued the following statements after Governor Walker’s State of the State address, which was given to the joint session of the Wisconsin State Legislature on Tuesday afternoon.

“I am encouraged by the goals laid out by Governor Walker in his State of the State address. Both Wisconsin’s small businesses and tourism industry have experienced tremendous growth. Additionally, the increased contribution to rural broadband access and rural teacher training outlined in Walker’s budget is of incredible importance for the vitality of the state. The education of Wisconsin’s youth is what will continue to drive our state forward.

Further, I agree that the state of our state is indeed strong; however, we can always make it stronger. We must work together to improve employment opportunities, especially workforce development, fix the state’s decaying infrastructure and roads, and make our state government more accountable to its citizens.

That being said, I hope they tuned in to the Governor’s speech today. We are working hard for our state, and I, personally, will continue to work hard for my constituents.”
