Welcome to my e-update

Thank you for taking the time to read this week's e-update. I always strive to include information you find interesting and informative as it relates to my work in Madison and the 60th Assembly District.

My most important goal remains serving you, my constituents. Helping you find solutions to difficult problems when it seems like the state is unresponsive is the single greatest reward for my staff and me. I take constituents' input seriously and continually work hard on your behalf.

I always have your thoughts and concerns in mind when deciding whether or not to support legislation. Furthermore, I appreciate when you take time out of your schedules to contact me.

Have a great week,

Bipartisanship
Bipartisanship.jpg

This week, I joined my colleagues in signing a letter to Governor Tony Evers exploring areas of public policy where we can work together. Wisconsin has a long history of avoiding the partisan rancor that has, throughout history, brought Washington, D.C. to a screeching halt; I am committed to maintaining this proud tradition, in an effort to enact meaningful legislation that positively impacts every Wisconsinite.

Here are the issues addressed in the letter:

  • Pre-existing condition coverage
  • Income tax reductions
  • Enhancing high-speed internet access
  • Support for K-12 education
  • Expanding SeniorCare to cover influenza shots
  • Preventing homelessness
  • Adding the debt level in our transportation fund
  • Childcare affordability
  • Clean water
  • Investments in infrastructure
  • Attracting qualified employees to Wisconsin.

You can read the full letter here.

Internships

If you know of a college student in the Madison area who is looking for an exciting, fast-paced internship in the Wisconsin State Capitol, my office is currently accepting applications. Interns will receive $12 per hour and assist with constituent issues and casework, database management and entry, and scheduling.

60th District high school students who are interested in shadowing me for a day are also welcome to contact my office. Over the past two sessions, we have had several high school students come to Madison for the day to better familiarize themselves with the legislative process.

Interested students can contact my office at (608)267-2370 or: Rep.Rob.Brooks@legis.Wisconsin.gov.
