Working for you!

The Tax Cut You've Earned

Responsible Republican budgeting means Wisconsin now has a $588 budget surplus and can afford to give hard working middle class families the tax break they deserve. I'm hopeful that Governor Evers will keep his campaign promise and implement our bipartisan proposal as soon as possible.

Protecting Those with Pre-existing Conditions

In a bipartisan vote in the Assembly Committee on Health yesterday, we recommended passage of Assembly Bill 1, the Pre-Existing Condition Guaranteed Coverage Act, which would ensure those with pre-existing conditions will be able to secure insurance regardless of what happens in Washington, D.C.

While I was happy to have two Democrats put partisan politics aside and join all ten Republicans in advancing this important bill, I was disappointed to see three Democrats on the committee vote no.

You can watch the committee hearing on the bill by clicking on the video below:

Capitol Visitors

It was a busy week at my office in Madison, with visitors from across the state. On Monday, we had faculty, staff, and students from UW–Platteville, on Tuesday students from UW–La Crosse popped in, on Wednesday I had a chance to catch up with Winnebago County Supervisor Tom Snider and Outagamie County Register of Deeds Sarah Van Kamp, and on Thursday I spoke with UW–Oshkosh Professor Linda Gobis, president of the Wisconsin Nurses Association, Michael Welsh of the Wisconsin Economic Development Association, and UW System President Ray Cross.

If you’re planning a trip to Madison, consider scheduling a visit to my office or feel free to just pop in.
