Working for you!

A Day of Listening in Green Bay

On Wednesday, I spent the day in Green Bay listening to folks from across North Central and Northeastern Wisconsin testify about what’s important to them in the state budget. I always appreciate hearing from constituents, so please be sure to fill out my spring survey, which is linked to below.

You can watch the hearing by clicking on the image above.

Evers: Preserving Life "Not a Productive Use of Time"

I was devastated when I heard our governor characterize the preservation of a baby’s life as “not a productive use of time” in his comments to the press about our bill to prevent a child who is born alive from being murdered by a physician after a failed abortion. NOTHING is more important than the preservation of life. Every day the state spends countless hours on things far less productive than protecting life.

Economic Growth Better Than Expected

Once again, economic growth under President Trump is exceeding the expectations of experts and political pundits. It's now clear that even the federal government shutdown couldn't stop the nation's private sector from producing and earning more.

The Opportunity to Earn In-State Tuition

Wisconsin does a great job at holding on to our resident college graduates. Unfortunately, we lag behind other states when it comes to attracting workforce talent from elsewhere, commonly referred to as “brain gain.” Experts point to lower salaries, weather, and taxes as reasons why skilled young individuals do not come to or remain in Wisconsin after graduation. My bill, AB 174 provides a compelling financial incentive to remain in Wisconsin after graduation for non-resident graduates who are concerned about lower wages and higher taxes. This will help Wisconsin businesses fill the over 100,000 job openings we currently have and address Wisconsin’s long-term need to increase our population.

Capitol Visitors

My staff is pictured with members of the American Cancer Society from our district.

Winneconne Town Chair Tom Snider popped in for Towns Association day at the Capitol.
