A Win for UW Transparency and Accountability

Last Thursday, we took the Assembly Colleges and Universities Committee on the road to meet constituents where they’re at for a public hearing on two important higher education bills. Rep. Nygren testified on a bill he authored that would create a scholarship program for returning adult students to complete their degree.

We also heard testimony from the public and national experts on Rep. Holarcher’s freedom of expression bill. This important bill ensures current Board of Regents policy will have the force of law and preserve the Constitutional right of free speech on our public college campuses across Wisconsin.

New Blue Books are Now Available

Wisconsin’s 2019-20 almanac of state government, the Blue Book, is now available. If you would like a copy, click on the image above and complete the online form. Thanks for your patience; I'm hand delivering as many books as I can to save postage!

Choose Life Plates Making a Difference

I worked hard to pass a law that allows for the Choose Life Wisconsin license plate.

Choose Life Wisconsin has raised $65,442 for over 40 Pregnancy Resource Centers (PRCs) throughout Wisconsin since they began offering the plates to Wisconsin motorists on October 23, 2017.

Although the plates have been around for over two years, it's never too late to get one on your car!

FVTC Ranks as a Top Community College in Nation

Fox Valley Technical College was just recognized as one of the top community colleges in the nation by the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program. I’m proud to have such an outstanding institution right in our backyard and to support it in my role as chair of the Assembly Committee on Colleges and Universities. Well done!

Happy New Year
