Your email would go directly to members of the Finance Committee rather than my office. Also, please feel free to contact individual members of the Finance Committee.

You can also find summaries and analysis from the non-partisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau here.

Please know that each way you contact the legislature "counts" the same. You do not need to attend a meeting in person for your voice to be heard.

Rep. Murphy meets with Fox Valley area dentists during their legislative day in Madison

The dentists in my district have a tradition of letting me know their thoughts and concerns on legislative issues. I hear from them when important issues arise, and it's always great to welcome them to my office for their annual government day. Thanks!

Rep. Murphy and Cadet Col. Thomsen, who received the General Carl A. Spaatz Award

Cadet Col. Evan W. Thomsen invited me to witness the ceremony awarding him the the highest honor in Civil Air Patrol. This award is presented to cadets who demonstrate excellence in leadership, character, fitness and aerospace education. I commend Evan's diligence and hard work, and I know he will contribute positively to our world. Keep up the great leadership, Evan!

Rep. Murphy with Rep. Thiesfeldt and Rep. Barnes at a K-12 education conference

Members of the Assembly Committee on Education were invited to participate in the Policy Academy on Next Generation Education Systems through the Council of State Governments (CSG). This workshop focused on rigorous academic standards, assessment, accountability and K-12 to postsecondary education alignment. CSG is a nonpartisan organization that serves elected and appointed officials in the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government. I was happy to get some new perspectives on K-12 education, and I'm sure much of this dialog will help inform decisions we will be making in Wisconsin.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Rep. Murphy introduced a resolution celebrating St. Patrick's Day in the Assembly on March 17th.

Red Tape Review Continues

The Wisconsin Assembly majority continues to work on finding ways to reduce government regulation and outdated rules. The Review workshop we held at Fox Valley Technical College on February 16 was a great way to get ideas on how to improve Wisconsin's business climate. Let us know if you have identified problem rules and regulations in our administrative code by calling or emailing my office.

Welcome!

I live in Greenville, but have an office at the State Capitol in Madison. If you are in downtown Madison, please feel free to stop by and say hello! Just go to the information desk in the rotunda, and they can direct you on how to find my office, 318 North. At the bottom of each e-news, you'll see my office contact information.

If your school or group plans to tour the Capitol building, please let me know in advance. I'd love to visit with you for a few minutes and take a group photo.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.
