Welcome to my third April e-update!
Weeks of April 19th and April 26th

Gathering in the rotunda with colleagues for National Child Abuse Prevention Month

These past two weeks have been busy! Here is a brief legislative update on what we have been working on in the capitol:

  1. PTSD legislation: I was proud to support expanding PTSD treatment for law enforcement officers. This bill was signed in to law on April 27th!
  2. In the Regulatory Licensing Reform Committee, we heard bills about EMS certification requirements and DSPS credentialing boards
  3. In the Mental Health Committee, we heard bills regarding preventing suicide by firearms (which I was proud to co-author) and grants for prevention programming

I also had the privilege of joining meetings with Ascension Medical Group, Neenah City Council, hotel owners in our area, and the Respite Care Association of Wisconsin!

Mental Health Committee

Listening Session

Thank you to everyone who came to our listening session at Fox Crossing Municipal Complex a few Saturdays ago (4/17)! Many topics were discussed, ranging from marijuana legalization, to the Foxconn contract and mental health support. We will be having a virtual listening session coming up in the next few weeks, and we will send around details once they are confirmed! If you have any budget requests in general, you can always submit your input to me here!

This session, I am serving on the following committees. Click on the links to view committee activity!

I'm looking forward to continuing my work on each of these with many of my colleagues.
