Welcome to my second October E-Update!
Weeks of October 22nd and 29th

Neenah Girls Tennis team, whom had won the State Finals on 10/23, a huge congratulations is deserving of their team!

These past two weeks at the Legislature have been busy! Here is a brief legislative update on what we have been working on:
  1. I am happy to announce that my bi-partisan bill made it out of the Assembly Committee on Health Exec Session, unanimously. Assembly Bill 128 aims to require consent before performing a pelvic exam on a patient who is under anesthesia, or otherwise unconscious. This bill has been requested and awaiting a floor vote. Read more here.
  2. Additionally, The Assembly convened on Tuesday to take up a slew of Wisconsin Housing bills. Bills ranged from addressing real estate disclosure reports, to creating an incentive program as it relates to municipal workforce housing. Read more here.
  3. On Tuesday, October 26th, the Assembly passed AJR 75, which designated September of 2021 and 2022 as Ovarian Cancer Awareness month. Read more here.

Lt. Pedersen with Rep. Cabral-Guevara at the State Capitol, on Tuesday, Oct. 26th

On Tuesday, the Wisconsin State Assembly honored First Responders from around our great state. I had the privilege of honoring Investigative Lieutenant Pat Pedersen, of the Neenah Police Department.

Lt. Pedersen has served our community for over 30 years, working as a Patrol Officer, Crime Prevention Coordinator, School Resource Officer and more. Lt. Pedersen is the embodiment of what it means to serve your community, selflessly nonetheless. Our entire community can sleep easy, knowing him and his men and women are protecting our streets.
