Welcome to my first November E-Update!
Weeks of November 5th and 12th
I had the honor and privilege of speaking to our local Boy Scout Chapter this past Monday. It's always an honor of speaking to the future leaders of Wisconsin and the U.S.!
The past two weeks at the State Legislature have been busy! Here is a brief legislative update on what we have been working on:
  1. I have introduced legislation that affords greater resources to law enforcement officers coping with mental health and job-related trauma. I am confident that this bipartisan piece of legislation will garner widespread support across the Assembly. Read more AB:668!
  2. I have also been working on non-renewable energy legislation, ensuring that if you want solar energy on your house, you have the option to lease such equipment, rather than having to purchase it outright. This bill will be referred to a Standing Committee within the next couple of weeks!
  3. I was also happy to co-sponsor SJR 72 which proclaims the month of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and AJR 94 in which we observe November 11, 2021 as Veterans Day and honoring all veterans who have served our state and country.

The last and final day to register as a poll worker is November 30th. I encourage anyone who has expressed doubt in our election processes through this previous election by getting involved and staying involved. This is the greatest way to produce transparency!

Mount Mary University, located in Milwaukee, WI

I had the privilege of speaking to Mount Mary University's Career Development class, my alma mater, this past week. This important course helps students focus on the career path that best suits their skill set, as well as what career path intrigues them the most.

Fun fact: My car broke down in Milwaukee and I had to use my kid's car, 30 minutes prior to the presentation commencing!

This session, I am serving on the following committees. Click on the links to view committee activity!

Mental Health

Colleges and Universities

Public Benefit Reform

Regulatory Licensing Reform

I'm looking forward to continuing my work on each of these with many of my colleagues.
