REMINDER: Absentee Voting Information

 

Dear Friends & Neighbors,

 

Today, April 2, is the last day to request an absentee ballot.

 

The deadline to submit an online request to receive your ballot VIA POSTAL SERVICE today at 11:59pm. You can submit your request HERE. It is important to realize that there has been a record demand for absentee ballots, which has resulted in a significant delay with the postal service. Many people are not receiving their ballot for 7-14 days after submitting the request.

 

The deadline to submit an online request to receive your ballot VIA EMAIL is today at 5pm. You can submit your request HERE. Once submitted, you will receive your ballot and absentee certification statement as attachments to the email message. You will need to print the ballot and certification statement.

 

The Oshkosh Public Library staff is available to witness the completion and signing of your absentee ballot. Here's what you need to know:

  • Do not complete the ballot before going to the library. 
  • Bring your photo ID.
  • Only one person will be allowed in the library at a time.

Instead of mailing your ballot via USPS, the Oshkosh City Clerk requests that you drop your ballot in the drop box at City Hall. This way, you can guarantee your ballot is received by Tuesday, April 7 and your vote is counted.

 

The deadline to vote IN-PERSON ABSENTEE at the City Clerk's Office is tomorrow at 5pm. I encourage everyone who votes in-person to practice social distancing by maintaining a space of 6 feet between yourself and those around you. The City Clerk's Office is open for absentee voting during these hours: 

  • 8am-4:30pm on Thursday, April 2
  • 8am-5pm on Friday, April 3

In order to receive an absentee ballot via mail, email, or in-person, you must show your photo ID. You can view acceptable forms of photo ID HERE. If you request your ballot online, you will upload a photo of your ID directly to the website. If you vote in-person, you will show your ID to the City Clerk staff.
