Important: Absentee Voting Update #2

 

Dear Friends & Neighbors,

There have been new developments since the last elections update. Yesterday, a federal judge ruled to extend the absentee voting window for Wisconsin's April 7 election. 

The deadline to request your absentee ballot has been extended until 5pm TODAY (Friday, April 3). Request your ballot through the City Clerk's Office or online HERE.

All absentee ballots must be received by the City Clerk's Office no later than 4pm on Monday, April 13 in order to be counted. Your ballot does not have to be postmarked by April 7. 

The requirement for a witness to sign an absentee voter's ballot has been loosed under this order. A voter may provide a statement or affirmation with their ballot indicating that they could not safely obtain a signature, despite reasonable efforts to do so. 

You may also vote in-person absentee in the City Clerk's Office through 5pm TODAY (Friday, April 3). Voters must present the same type of photo ID required at the polls. I encourage everyone who votes in-person to practice social distancing by maintaining a space of 6 feet between yourself and those around you.
