Rep. Thiesfeldt Works to Protect Kids from ID Theft

The Child Credit Protect Act, authored and enacted into law by Rep. Jeremy Thiesfeldt (R-Fond du Lac), allows parents and guardians to sign up with the three major credit agencies to protect their child’s credit record.  Under the law, a parent or legal guardian may freeze their child’s credit record so that anyone seeking to open a new credit account in the child’s name cannot access the credit report; hopefully resulting in the rightful denial of their application.
