Reps. Novak and Rohrkaste Release Speaker’s Task Force on Alzheimer’s and Dementia Final Report

Madison, WI – Today, Representative Mike Rohrkaste (R-Neenah), Chair of the Speaker’s Task Force on Alzheimer’s and Dementia, joined task force member Rep. Todd Novak (Dodgeville) to present the task force report to members of the community. The release of the report took place at the Iowa County Health and Human Services Building in Dodgeville.

“The task force made it a priority to collaborate on and explore policy recommendations, raise awareness, and ensure future quality of care for those affected by Alzheimer’s and Dementia,” said Rep Novak. “We passed several bipartisan bills that came from hearing from experts, caregivers, and community members throughout Wisconsin. The report includes recommendations by the Task Force that will continue to make strides in educating people, and continue working towards finding solutions to this long-term problem.”

“The recommendations put forward in this report are one more step in the fight against Alzheimer’s and dementia,” said Rep. Rohrkaste. “We heard powerful testimony from community members during our public hearing in Dodgeville and that testimony impacted our legislation and these recommendations. Also, I would like to thank Rep. Novak for hosting the task force and Iowa County for allowing us to utilize their fantastic facility.”
