Rep. Novak Applauds Increase in School Aid Today, Republican leaders of the legislative Joint Finance Committee (JFC) approved changes to the education budget that restore funding by $150 per pupil in the first year of the budget and adds an additional $100 per pupil in the second year.

Rep. Novak Lauds Plan to Preserve Long Term Care Today, Rep. Todd Novak (R-Dodgeville) applauded the announcement of Republican leaders to reject the proposed changes to long term care services in Governor Walker’s proposed state budget. Offering an improved path forward, the updated plan directs the state to begin a comprehensive review of FamilyCare and IRIS services and would allow Wisconsin to begin negotiations with the federal government to derive cost savings.

Novak Fights to Fund Drug Enforcement in Community Today, Representative Todd Novak (R-Dodgeville) announced that the Joint Finance Committee moved to approve his request for funds to increase drug enforcement in Lafayette County. The request received bipartisan support and was accepted unanimously by the budget-writing committee late last week.
