Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. While this year has challenged every one of us, I hope you can take a moment to reflect on the good that we are blessed with each day.

Water Quality Work Continues

Recently, I was honored to receive the "Outstanding Legislator of the Year" Award from the Wisconsin Water Alliance. (Left) This award recognizes a commitment to advancing sound water policy that protects the environment while allowing the resource to power our state’s economic engine.

As I work to prepare for the upcoming legislative session, water quality remains a top priority of mine. I strongly believe we can continue to build upon the great progress we have made. The task force has proven that bipartisan action is possible and is a foundation for continued progress.

Last week, I had the opportunity to meet with Allison Werner from the Wisconsin River Alliance. (Bottom Right) We discussed innovative ideas that seek to keep water quality issues in the spotlight across our state as well as how we can maintain the stakeholder participation that made the task force so successful. Thank you for taking the time to meet!

Small Business Saturday

This coming Saturday, we celebrate the small businesses that make our main streets prosper. As you begin your holiday shopping this weekend, I encourage you to patronize your small local businesses.

This year has been difficult, especially for our small businesses, and your support is vital to ensuring our favorite neighborhood spots remain in business. In case you need another reason to shop small this year, it is estimated that two-thirds of every dollar spent at a local business stays in the community.
