Water Quality Wrap-Up
Last week, the Speaker’s Task Force on Water Quality wrapped up the last planned public hearings in Menomonie, and Superior. We heard from the DNR, Douglas, Ashland, and Dunn Counties, the Wisconsin Dairy Alliance, the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation, the Water Quality Coalition, as well as other groups and members of the public. As we have approached the end of our listening sessions, the task force has begun the process of compiling information for our report to the legislature. During our travels, we heard from over 70 different groups, hundreds of members of the public, and traveled 2,353 miles, which is the distance between New York City and Seattle! I look forward to having a completed report of legislation and initiatives that allow us to have sustainable access to quality water. Thank you to everyone who has participated in our hearings or contacted my office!
Thank you for reading, and have a great weekend!
