Shullsburg High School Wisconsin History Class

Shullsburg School History Class 120419-03 r.jpgOn Wednesday, the Wisconsin History Class from Shullsburg High School came to tour the capitol. I had the opportunity to speak with them about being a State Representative. Also, Chief Justice Roggensack came to talk about her job as Chief Justice, and also lead the students through a judicial scenario. Glad you all could visit!

Capitol Christmas Tree

IMG_7102 r.jpg

This week, the Wisconsin State Capitol Christmas Tree was decorated this week in the Rotunda. The tree is a 30-foot Balsam fir from Meyer's Castle Tree Farm in Medford. Prochnow Trucking of Medford transported the tree nearly 200 miles to Madison. Continuing the Wisconsin tradition, school children from across the state created handmade ornaments for the tree, which also has two-thousand LED lights. This year’s theme is “Celebrate Science”.

We found ornaments from Highland Elementary, Dodgeville Middle School, Neal Wilkins Early Learning Center in Platteville, St. Victor School in Monroe, and Riverdale Elementary in Muscoda. Great Job!

The Christmas season is a great time to visit the Capitol. There are a variety of events happening throughout the coming weeks. Visit the following website for details: http://tours.wisconsin.gov.

Water Quality Briefing

Rep. Shankland and I had the opportunity to host Dr. Chris Kucharik and Kevin Masarik on behalf of the Water Quality Task Force, for a legislative briefing. They spoke about their research involving nutrient modeling for agriculture. It was a very insightful presentation- I am glad that they could share what they have learned.

Have a Great Weekend!
