Mineral Point High School Cornwall Exchange Program Visit

On Tuesday I had the opportunity to speak to a group of students who came from Redruth, Cornwall through the Mineral Point Twinning Association’s exchange program at Mineral Point High School. Each year a group of students is sent to either Redruth or Mineral Point. Between the two places, more than 200 students have visited Redruth and Mineral Point over the past 20 years. It was a pleasure to get to speak with them, and thank you for visiting!

AB 445 Public Hearing

On Thursday, I had the opportunity to testify at a public hearing for AB 445, a bill I am cosponsoring with Senator Marklein. I testified along with two of my constituents, LaVerne Gordee and David Johnson. LaVerne and David are both members of Jordan Lutheran Church in Browntown. Current building codes prohibit the installation of a chair lift in their church's basement. This bill would allow for any church older than 100 years to install one. If this bill passes, Jordan Lutheran Church, one of the oldest churches in Wisconsin, would be able to install a chairlift so that elderly members of the congregation could attend church functions. Thank you again for coming to testify!
