Thank you for writing!

With the holiday season in full swing, I wanted to take a few minutes to bring attention to some of the letters I have received at my office and thank those who took the time to write. Click the image above to watch the video!

Local High Schools Visit Capitol

On Tuesday, Senator Marklein and I welcomed classes from Shullsburg High School (bottom) and Blackhawk High School (top) to the Capitol. The students had the opportunity to tour the building and see first hand how state government operates. Thank you for visiting!

Occupational Licensing Legislation Introduced

Recently, Senator Feyen and I introduced Assembly Bill 733 which waives the fees for initial occupational licensing fees for a person whose family income is below 180% of the federal poverty line. The bill will also waive these credentialing fees for veterans. While these fees help protect public safety and ensure that there is adequate oversight of our service providers, they also create unnecessary obstacles, especially for low-income families. I am a strong advocate for reducing the barriers to finding a good paying job and rising to the middle class. I look forward to seeing this bill through the legislative process and working to remove any additional obstacles to finding employment.
