America's Dairyland License Plate Resized.jpg

 Support "America's Dairyland"

Recently, a proposal was put forward by a representative from Wisconsin Manufacturer's and Commerce to reconsider the well-known slogan "America's Dairyland" on Wisconsin license plates. The phrase, printed on license plates for over 70 years, brings attention to Wisconsin's famous dairy history.

Proponents of a new slogan hope to bring attention to Wisconsin's up and coming industries and potential in manufacturing. They believe transitioning away from our reputation as a state focused on agriculture will help attract young talent for these new industries.

In southwest Wisconsin, we pride ourselves on our large number of cheese makers and the important role agriculture plays in our economy. Wisconsin produces more cheese than any other state in the nation and we rank in the top five when compared to countries around the world. There is no doubt that Wisconsin is truly America's Dairyland and I strongly support keeping our current slogan.

Student Day Resized.jpg

Disability Mentoring Day

On Thursday, I had the honor to welcome students from Iowa & Lafayette County schools for mentoring day. Students with special needs toured local businesses to learn about different occupations. This event provides a real-world experience for students with disabilities to explore hands-on career opportunities. They were a great bunch of students and thank you to all the businesses who spent time with them.

Drug Take Back Day

The Wisconsin Department of Justice's Drug Take Back Day is planned for Saturday, October 28. This event allows for communities to properly dispose of unwanted prescription drugs in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.

Not only does this program help to prevent contamination of our water supply, but it goes a long way towards limiting opportunities for abuse by decreasing the supply of potentially addictive drugs in our area.
