Rep. Tranel Celebrates 100 Years of Wyalusing State Park

MADISON – State Representative Travis Tranel (R – Cuba City) visited Wyalusing State Park this past Saturday to take part in the celebration of the park’s 100th Anniversary. At a noon event featuring state and local officials, Rep. Tranel spoke briefly and presented the park with a legislative citation on behalf of Sen. Marklein and himself. Wyalusing State Park was established in 1917 by the State of Wisconsin, following a recommendation from the 1909 Nolan Commission.

“Wyalusing State Park is one of the gems of our state park system,” said Rep. Tranel. “We are lucky to have such a beautiful place within in the 49th Assembly District. It was an honor to present park officials with a legislative citation to mark this significant milestone.”

Wyalusing State Park contains over 21 miles of trails, numerous campsites, 4 known caves, an observatory, and multiple scenic overlooks of the Mississippi and Wisconsin Rivers. For more information, visit http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/parks/name/wyalusing/.
