Wisconsin State Assembly Honors Deputy Vesperman and Officer Dresen

On October 8th, Rep. Travis Tranel (R-Cuba City) presented Grant County Sheriff’s Deputy Jerry Vesperman and Fennimore Police Officer Walt Dresen with the Wisconsin State Assembly Hometown Hero Award.  The Wisconsin State Assembly recognized both gentlemen for their actions which saved the life of a driver trapped in his partially submerged vehicle in the Big Green River last May.

“I am proud to have had the opportunity to introduce Deputy Vesperman and Office Dresen to my legislative colleagues and honor them with Hometown Hero Awards,” said Tranel.  “Both gentlemen exemplify the qualities of a hometown hero, they put their lives on the line to save the life of another.”

The Wisconsin State Assembly has a tradition of honoring individuals from around the state who give of themselves to make a difference in our communities and in the lives of those around them.  Deputy Vesperman, Officer Dresen and their families were special guests of Rep. Tranel during Tuesday’s Assembly Floor Session.
