Rep. Tranel Requests Support for Rural Schools

Madison- Today, Representative Travis Tranel (R-Cuba City) joined 12 of his legislative colleagues in sending a letter to the co-chairs of the state’s budget writing committee (Joint Finance) to request they provide a funding increase for K-12 education.

“We have great schools in Southwest Wisconsin and after listening to parents, teachers, administrators and community leaders it is clear to me that a funding increase is needed to help our rural schools,” said Tranel. “We made very tough decisions two years ago to address a $3.6 billion dollar state budget deficit and turned the state’s finances around. Now, I believe a portion of the projected budget surplus should be reinvested to help our rural schools.”
