Legislators Ask UW System to Research New Uses for Milk Madison

Today Representative Travis Tranel (R – Cuba City) made the following comments after forwarding a bi-partisan letter co-signed by 23 of his legislative colleagues to University of Wisconsin System President Ray Cross requesting that the University of Wisconsin System consider researching new uses for dairy milk in response to an abundant global supply:

“I’m encouraged that so many of my colleagues recognize and value the importance of dairy to Wisconsin’s overall economy. It is imperative that the state does everything it can to protect this vital industry. I hope this letter leads to many more productive conversations as to how we can begin to find innovative new uses for milk and keep dairy farming as a viable opportunity for generations to come.”
