Two state legislators from southwest Wisconsin will serve as committee leaders when the new session starts. Republican Representative Travis Tranel of Cuba City has been named chair of the Assembly Committee on Tourism – a post he held in this most recent session. In Wisconsin, tourism is the 3rd largest industry with an over $20-billion dollar impact on the state’s economy last year. Also, Republican Representative Todd Novak of Dodgeville has been named chair of the Assembly Committee on Local Government. This committee focuses on addressing the issues that face cities, villages, towns and counties around Wisconsin.
