Meet Andrew

A lifelong advocate for freedom and individual liberties.

About Andrew

Andrew Hysell is a resident of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and lives in the Smiths Crossing neighborhood. He graduated from Pius XI high school in Milwaukee and Carroll University in Waukesha. After college, Andrew lived and worked in Madison for the senate and assembly Democrats, first as an intern and then serving as a legislative aide.

Andrew started working at an early age, first with a paper route and later at McDonald’s and Denny’s. To help pay his tuition, Andrew worked his way through college. Later, he attended law school at night while working full time.

Andrew graduated from Georgetown Law and is a practicing attorney.

A Career Dedicated to Helping Kids

Andrew has advocated for policies and programs to address and eliminate health and educational inequities facing at-risk children in the United States. At the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, he fought to pass ground-breaking legislation to protect children from the harms of tobacco. He served as Save the Children’s Vice President, where he advocated for public education and public schools. Andrew was the Director for the Campaign for Healthy Kids, and was a partner of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Campaign. Today, he is a board member for Reading Roadmap, an education non-profit that works to close the literacy gap that exists among students from low income families.

An opportunity to help Wisconsinites

Andrew saw an opportunity for experience like his in state government. With an extensive background in policy and advocacy, he knew that he could help. Andrew is ready to get to work to deliver on the promises on which he was elected.

Andrew believes that all residents deserve to feed their families and afford healthcare without worrying about undue financial burden. Seniors deserve to afford life-saving prescription medication. Parents should be able to sent their children to school for eight hours a day knowing they'll have mental health support and be safe from gun violence. We all deserve the chance to prosper, right here at home.
