Government Accountability Should Start at the State Legislature

Rep. Anderson Joins Sen. Larson on Open Records Bill

MILWAUKEE, Wis.- Representative Clinton Anderson joined Senator Chris Larson to introduce legislation to strengthen open records laws in the State Legislature.

“The Wisconsin Legislature is the least transparent elected body in our state,” Rep Anderson said. “Good governance means not deleting records the public has a right to. Unfortunately no such policy exists in the State legislature to require good record retention. This bill addresses that.”

"I hope that all of my legislative colleagues who have authored or supported legislation championing government accountability will do the right thing, support this bill, and hold themselves to the same standard expected of the rest of our government."
