Assembly Passes AB 304

Rep. Anderson Stands with Wedding Barn Industry

MADISON, Wis. - Today the Wisconsin State Assembly passed AB 304, which rewrites our state’s rules on alcohol, including new regulations on the wedding barn industry.

“AB 304 had a lot of great components in it. However, I could not vote in favor of over regulating our wedding barns and potentially resulting in their closures. I offered an amendment which was an olive branch. This amendment would have delayed the regulations by a year and ensured that weddings currently booked would be honored. That unfortunately did not move forward.”

“I had many farmers contact me with serious concerns. I voted against the bill in solidarity with both the Wisconsin Farmers Union and the Wisconsin Farm Bureau. I have a lot of farms in my district. My no vote was a reminder that I will have their back in Madison.”
