Solar Project Tour, Beloit College Visit, Brodhead Fire Pancake Breakfast, Awarding Det. Amber Davies, and Sully

In this e-update, I toured the Alliant Energy Paddock Solar Project in Beloit, visited Beloit College with Governor Evers and State Senator Mark Spreitzer, attended Brodhead Fire District’s Annual Pancake Breakfast, presented Detective Amber Davies with the 2023 First Responder of the Year Award, and stopped by Old Fashion Bakery with Sully.

Touring the Alliant Energy Paddock Solar Project in Beloit
It was great to have so many colleagues and labor folks tour the Alliant Energy 65-megawatt Paddock solar project in Beloit. I appreciate Alliant's commitment to union labor on their projects and their commitment to renewable energy.

Beloit College Visit with Governor Tony Evers and State Senator Mark Spreitzer

Recently, I was able to visit Beloit College with Governor Tony Evers and State Senator Mark Spreitzer. We heard from students about their future career goals and visited a class that works on leadership skills. Beloit College has so much to offer!

Brodhead Fire District’s Annual Pancake Breakfast
It was great to start my day at the Brodhead Fire District's Annual Pancake Breakfast. The pancakes were great but the art from local students was even better.

Presenting Detective Amber Davies with the 2023 First Responder of the Year Award
It was an honor to present Detective Amber Davies with the 2023 First Responder of the Year Award. The nomination and presentation of this award is the least the Wisconsin State Legislature and I can do to recognize the vital work that the Detective does to protect the victims of human trafficking in Wisconsin’s 45th Assembly District. It is clear how much the community values the work Detective Amber Davies and law enforcement officers do to make the 45th Assembly district a safer and better place to live, and it was fantastic to see so much support for her at the award presentation on Tuesday.

Sully Sunday
Sully loves it when he wakes up to the smell of donuts from Old Fashion Bakery. That's why he wanted to go there for this edition of #SullySunday. Old Fashion Bakery has been making delicious baked goods since 1933 and is a staple in Beloit. Go visit them and continue to shop local.
