Rock County Farm Bureau, Fall Fest, Women’s Culture Club, Honoring Cpl. Benjamin Neal, and Sully
In this e-update, I attended the annual meeting of the Rock County Farm Bureau, visited the Orfordville Fire Department for Fall Fest, joined in celebrating 100 years of the Women’s Culture Club in Beloit, testified to rename a section of highway 11 in honor of Corporal Benjamin Neal, and stopped by the Brodhead Historical Museum with Sully.
Annual Meeting of the Rock County Farm Bureau
I recently attended the annual meeting of the Rock County Farm Bureau. It was great to join Rock County legislators and present a citation recognizing their 100th anniversary. I appreciate being able to enjoy this moment with members and look forward to continuing to work with them in the Capitol.
Fall Fest at the Orfordville Fire Department
It was a lot of fun at the Orfordville Fire Department for Fall Fest. Raising money for the fire department and trying some delicious chili is a winning combination!
100th Anniversary of the Women's Culture Club in Beloit
I enjoyed celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Women's Culture Club in Beloit. It was great to learn more about the history from Cheryl Caldwell, and present them with a Legislative Citation from myself and State Senator Mark Spreitzer.
Renaming Highway 11 After Corporal Benjamin Neal of Orfordville
I joined State Senator Mark Spreitzer to testify in favor of renaming a section of Highway 11 after Corporal Benjamin Neal of Orfordville. Corporal Neal served our country and was tragically killed in action in 2012. Renaming this section of highway is a way to honor his sacrifice.
Thank you to Post Commander Kurt Stuvengen of Orfordville American Legion Post 209 for coming up to testify as well. This bill has bipartisan support and I'm optimistic we will get this passed.
Sully Sunday
This #SullySunday is at the Brodhead Historical Museum. They are closed for the year, but Sully still wanted to share how cool of a place it is. Learn about the history of Brodhead and see numerous exhibits Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays between Memorial Day and Labor Day, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
