Fourth of July, Childcare in the budget, and Village Board Meetings
In this week's e-update, I celebrated the Fourth of July, spoke on funding childcare in the budget, and attended a couple of local village board meetings.
Fourth of July
I got to hear the fantastic Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra at Riverside Park and see an amazing fireworks display. It was quite the day. I hope everyone had a happy 4th!
Childcare in the Budget
On June 30th, I spoke in favor of an amendment to add Child Care Counts to the state budget. This necessary program addresses the worker shortage and serves 87,000 children in Wisconsin, but Republicans did not put a single dollar into the state budget to save it.
Local Village Board Meetings
I recently attended village board meetings in Orfordville and Monticello. Coming from local government myself, I truly enjoy seeing the incredible work local governments are doing across the 45th.
Sully Sunday
Sully wanted to visit Walnut Creek Apparel & Gifts in downtown Beloit. He was so happy about the hat Danielle got that he had to give them a shout out. Check them out in downtown Beloit or online here. If you have a recommendation for where Sully should go next, nominate a location here.
