Farm Tours, Dairy Breakfasts, and Firefighter Training
In this week's e-update, I went on a number of farm tours, attended the Green County Breakfast on the Farm event, experienced some basic firefighter training, and visited Magnolia Bluff Park with Sully.
Farm Tours
I joined some of my Democratic colleagues on the Assembly Committee on Agriculture to tour various farms including Riemer Family Farm and Larson Acres in the district. We heard the practices that farms use and what challenges they face. The best way to advocate for agriculture is to talk to those who are in the industry.
Green County Breakfast on the Farm
I went to the Green County Breakfast on the Farm at the DeVoe Family Farm this past weekend. It was great to get to another farm. Events like this give people a chance to explore our amazing farms and learn more about the work our producers put in. Next stop Rock County Dairy Breakfast this weekend!
Firefighter Training
Recently I had the opportunity to experience what it was like to be a firefighter. To say it was challenging would be an understatement. Addressing staffing and helping rural fire districts prosper has been a priority of mine. Going through this experience has reminded me of how important this issue is. Thanks to the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin for hosting. Special shout out to the folks from Beloit Professional Fire Fighters Local 583 for spending the day with me.
Sully Sunday
Sully thought it was a good idea to get some fresh air. He suggested we go to Magnolia Bluff Park in Magnolia Township. Magnolia Bluff Park has beautiful views and amazing trails to explore. If you have never visited this Rock County park, you should! Sully plans on visiting again soon. If you have a recommendation for where Sully should go next, nominate a location here.
