Brodhead, Legislative Session, and Sully

In this week’s e-update, I had my last Budget Listening Session in Brodhead, voted on several pieces of legislation, went to a Beloit Chamber of Commerce Breakfast, stopped at a Magnolia 4-H Ham and Turkey Dinner, and checked out the new Beloit pet store with Sully.

Brodhead Listening Session

I joined Senator Mark Spreitzer last week for our last Budget Listening Session in Brodhead. It was great to get more feedback on how to make the Governor’s Budget work for our community. Please respond to this email and let me know your thoughts if you have additional feedback on the Governor’s Budget or questions about the budget process.

Legislative Session
Last week the Assembly met in session on a number of bills. I voted for and the assembly passed legislation, AB 51, that will allow lawful aliens to work in law enforcement. I also voted against several Republican bills that will further exacerbate our already broken criminal justice system.

Magnolia 4-H Ham and Turkey Dinner
This past week Danielle and I were also able to visit Magnolia 4-H for a great ham and turkey dinner. I'm thankful for all the work they do for the community.

Sully Sunday
This week, Sully was excited to hear about Critters and Crickets - Pet and Pet Supplies, a new pet store in Beloit. He loved exploring the store and even got a new toy! He can’t wait to visit again. If you have a recommendation for where Sully should go next, nominate a location here.
