In this week's update, we bid farewell to Beloit's City Manager, refocus on the effort to expand postpartum Medicaid coverage, and welcome Beloit's new Chief of Police.
The holiday season is here, and Sully celebrated his 6th birthday!
Thank You, Jerry Gabrielatos
Jerry Gabrielatos has stepped down from his role as Beloit City Manager. Hiring Jerry was one of the last major decisions I made while on the City Council, and I’ve truly appreciated getting to know and work with him in my role as State Representative. I’m wishing him all the best on his next adventure. Thank you for your service to Beloit, Jerry!
Beloit NAACP Freedom Fund
The Beloit NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet was a great success. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and support the oldest NAACP branch in Wisconsin. Former Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes delivered an inspiring keynote, and a special shout-out to Dennis Pounds and Robert Douglas for being recognized as Community Service Award winners.
Chief Stewart Sworn In
Congratulations to Chief Schonella Stewart on being sworn in as Beloit’s Police Chief! It was a wonderful ceremony, and I’m excited to see the positive impact her leadership will have on our community.
Grand Lighted Holiday Parade
Danielle and I had a great time at the Grand Lighted Holiday Parade. It’s one of my favorite annual events in the 45th District and always a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season!
Happy 6th Birthday, Sully!
Happy 6th Birthday to Sully! Sully loves being the Spokesdog of the 45th District and works hard each week on his Sully Sunday posts. Join us in wishing him the best birthday!
