Substance Abuse and Prevention Hearing

This Wednesday my colleagues and I had the opportunity to hear Assembly Bill 422 in the Substance Abuse and Prevention, the committee of which I chair.

Assembly Bill 422 relates to, "raising the legal age for sale, purchase, and possession of cigarettes and nicotine and tobacco products, providing a legal age for sale, purchase, and possession of vapor products, and providing a penalty." Thank you to all of the health professionals, business owners, activists, and Wisconsinites who came to speak on this issue.

Do you believe we should change this age of sale and purchase? Should more effort be put into studies and education on the use of tobacco?

Please reach out to my office or this email, as I would love to hear how you feel.

Committee on Agriculture

This week in the Committee on Agriculture I voted with my colleagues on Assembly Bill 206, which will regulate hemp as well as make an appropriation.

The Wisconsin hemp industry is one of the state's fasted growing businesses. Please click the link below on the article from the Milwaukee Business Journal to learn more about this new industry.

The Right Angle Podcast

Representative John Nygren and I had the chance to speak on the Wisconsin Assembly GOP podcast, the Right Angle, about the Substance Abuse and Prevention Committee. Click here or the icon above to give it a listen.
