First Responder of the Year Nominations

In honor of October being First Responder Appreciation Month, my office will be soliciting nominations from constituents for First Responder of the Year. I ask everyone in the 42nd district to identify a deserving member of our community who they believe should be recognized for their hard work in keeping our community safe. Please reach out to my office or go onto my website at to nominate a first responder. The winner will be invited to our Hometown Hero Recognition ceremony during the October floor period at the Capitol.

Highway Safety Bill Testimony

I had the honor of testifying this week in front of the Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety on my bill AB 262. This bill authorizes the citation of owners of vehicles for certain highway work
zone speed and failure to yield violations as well as require driver education instruction related to highway work zone safety. We must work to keep our road workers safe as they continue to improve this state's much needed road constructions. I believe this bill helps in that effort and I look forward to working with my colleagues on this issue.

Update from Adoption Taskforce

This Monday my colleagues and I had the opportunity to continue our hearings for the Speakers Taskforce on Adoption at Waukesha County Technical College. Thank you again to all of our speakers who brought much needed insight into improving our state's adoption services, and I look forward to the legislation we will create once the taskforce wraps next month.
