Assembly Floor Sessions

This week on Tuesday and Thursday, the State Assembly met to vote on many pieces of legislation during floor sessions.

I had several bills that I authored pass the state assembly including Assembly Bill 816 that requires that the Holocaust and other genocides be taught in Wisconsin schools. Another bill that I authored, AB 858, also passed the Assembly this week. AB 858 creates an opioid database which gathers information and statistics from several agencies related to Wisconsin’s substance abuse issues and houses them in one convenient location.

The Assembly also passed AB 114, which requires Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) to be licensed with the state through the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance among other consumer protection elements. This bills works to reduce the rising costs of prescription drugs.

Meeting with Tobacco Free Coalition Group

This Monday, I had the opportunity to meet with a few of the board members of the Tobacco Free Columbia - Dane County Coalition as well as the Lodi FACT Movement group. We discussed the new e-cigarette products, what the usage is in Lodi, and what tobacco-related disparities exist in Columbia County.

Thanks for making time for me and for all of your hard work to prevent teen vaping and tobacco use!
