Representative Dallman Responds to the State of the State Address

Madison, WI --- Tonight, Governor Evers gave his annual State of the State address in the Assembly Chambers. State Representative Alex Dallman (R-Green Lake) gave the following statement in response:

“Governor Evers spent much of his address touting the great work that Wisconsin has accomplished over his first four years in office. It is true that Wisconsin is working in the right direction in many different areas, such as tax rates, broadband expansion and road funding, but this progress was started even before Governor Evers took office, and the Republican legislature has been steadfast in ensuring that Governor Evers massive spending budget plans are not placing an undue burden on our state’s taxpayers.”

“Wisconsin has three major areas that I feel need to be focused on in the upcoming session and as we heard in the Governors address, are a priority that both sides of the aisle recognize. The issue of K-12 education, our workforce shortage across the state, and lastly, Wisconsin must continue to ease the tax burden on its citizens.”

“I hope this session will be unlike sessions during the first term of Governor Evers. Republican leadership has extended opportunities to meet with the governor so that we can work on the issues that matter to the people of Wisconsin. The people have spoken and they have sent the message that as a government, we are to work together. We have an incredible opportunity to focus on our constituencies and lead the way for the rest of the nation.”

State Representative Alex Dallman was re-elected in November 2022 to serve a second term for Wisconsin's 41st Assembly District which includes parts of Green Lake, Marquette, Adams, Columbia, Sauk, and Waushara counties. Representative Dallman currently serves as a member of the powerful Joint Committee on Finance.
