Welcome to my e-update

Hello, my name is Representative Alex Dallman and here you will find the latest news that is going on in our beautiful state Capitol building. I look forward to working with many of my constituents over the next couple of years.

Mobile Office Hours

I want to give a big thank you to my constituents who came out to my 9 office hour sessions that I held across the district this week. There were a lot of good conversations and I appreciate the input that was given. If you weren't able to make it, please send us your questions or concerns by email.

I want to also give a special thank you to Senator Ballweg for taking the time to join me at a number of my office hours as well.

Priorities for Federal Stimulus Dollars

This week, my Assembly Republican colleagues announced how part of $3.2 billion in federal stimulus funding from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 should be prioritized in order to help out citizens throughout Wisconsin.

As I stated last week, the legislature voted to pass the Truth in Spending Act, but earlier in the week, Governor Evers vetoed the bill, choosing to make the spending decisions on his own without our legislative input.

That being said, however, I believe that there is much common ground between the Legislature and the Governor's Office in regards to investing a large portion of these funds to expand rural broadband, investing in long-term care, and providing relief to businesses that have been most affected by the pandemic. I also hope that the Governor will work with the Legislature to provide aid to households through property tax relief.

Mid-State Technical College Tour

On Monday, I had the opportunity to tour the Mid-State Technical College in Adams. I was encouraged to see the investment that Midstate Technical College is making to our rural communities as we strive to provide skills and hands-on training to our up and coming workforce!
