Welcome to my e-update

Hello, my name is Representative Alex Dallman and here you will find the latest news that is going on in our beautiful state Capitol building, I look forward to working with many of my constituents over the next couple of years.

Unemployment Insurance Computer Systems

On Tuesday, I voted to direct our Governor to update Unemployment Insurance (UI) computer systems. From the moment Governor Evers was elected, he had the ability to finance a new computer system through the master lease program. Instead, Governor Evers has thought it would be better, politically, for him to blame the legislature for his inability to lead. Non-partisan audits have shown that our continuing UI backlog is a result of failed bureaucratic leadership in the Governor's executive branch agency.

This bill also includes important civil liability language to protect businesses, schools, and local governments from frivolous lawsuits, while also giving support to those who lost their jobs through no fault of their own.

The Colleges & Universities Committee

The Committee on Colleges and Universities met for its first time this week. I am happy to be sitting on this committee as Vice-Chair to help ensure our next generation has the skills necessary to be successful in our future workforce. I also appreciated the opportunity to meet with leadership from Moraine Park Technical College late last week to learn more about their priorities for the upcoming budget.

Westfield High School Girls Basketball

I wanted to wish our Westfield High School Girls Basketball team good luck as they have qualified for the WIAA's Division 3 State Girls Basketball Tournament coming up this Friday, February 26 at the Menominee National Arena in Oshkosh. Bring us back a gold ball, Pioneers!
