First Responder Ceremony

This week, I had the opportunity to honor Glen Bubolz from Montello Fire Department as the 41 District's First Responder of the Year on the Assembly floor.

There were many selfless citizens throughout the 41st District who were nominated to my office for First Responder of the Year, but Glen was definitely the person who stuck out to me the most.

Glen Bubolz has selflessly served the Montello Fire Department for 50 years and 25 of those years he served as the Fire Chief. The dedication, compassion, and courage that Glen demonstrated for all these years deserves to be recognized.

Congratulations and thank you, Glen!

Ag Exports Bill

Assembly Bill 314, which promotes the export of Wisconsin's agricultural and agribusiness products, was passed out of session this past week. I am the secondary author of this bill and thankful to have worked with Representative Kurtz on this important issue.

Assembly Bill 314 would require the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) and the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) to cooperate in achieving certain objectives related to Wisconsin’s export of agribusiness products. This would require the WEDC and the Center for International Agribusiness Marketing in DATCP to cooperate to achieve a 25% increase in exports by June 30, 2026. This bill seeks to increase the value of Wisconsin’s meat, dairy, and crop products by at least 25% over the values as of December 31, 2021.

Wisconsin has a longstanding tradition of being a leader in the agriculture industry. Our state currently ranks first in the production of cheese, cranberries, snap beans, dry whey, and corn for silage.

It is vital that we move forward legislation, such as AB 314, which will work to increase our exports to keep up with our Midwestern neighbors and continue to build on the agricultural tradition that makes Wisconsin great. Please contact the Governor and tell him to support this legislation!

Assembly Bill 603 & Assembly Bill 604

Both of my bills, Assembly Bill 603 & Assembly 604, passed on the Session floor this week. These bills were a part of the "Housing Development" package that focuses on our extreme shortage of workforce housing in the State of Wisconsin. Now that they have passed out of the Assembly, they are now on their way to the Senate floor.

Pro-Life Bill Package

This week, I joined my Assembly colleagues in passing a pro-life package on the session floor: The Born Alive Survivors Protection Act (AB6), A Woman’s Right to Know Act (AB593), the Prenatal Diagnosis Information Act (AB594), and the Shield the Vulnerable Act (AB595).

When I ran for office last year, I wanted to make it my mission to protect these individuals and advance pro-life legislation and these bills are exactly what Wisconsin needs in order to save lives.
