Rep. Dittrich was thrilled to see her school choice expansion bill pass through the Assembly!
Election Integrity
Even prior to the November election, constituents were voicing their serious concerns regarding the integrity of our elections. Since that time, the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections has uncovered many improprieties that have taken place in various Wisconsin cities. This week, it was Rep. Dittrich's honor to vote for and see passed both AB 172 and AB 173 to restore voter confidence in our state.
As the border crisis rages, creating a 50-state humanitarian crisis, the Assembly passed legislation asking Gov. Evers to send reinforcing support to our US southern border.
Lest you think it doesn't affect us in Wisconsin or the 38th Assembly District, an entire hotel is being prepared in Watertown to house people flooding over the border. This nation needs our immigrants, but it must be done in an orderly, legal manner for the safety of all.
Ending Elder Abuse
Our elderly are especially vulnerable to exploitation and financial abuse. Rep. Dittrich was glad to once again vote in favor of the elder abuse legislation this week as she did last session.
The legislative process continues on, but not without dishonesty from the media. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel knowingly made false accusations against Rep Dittrich regarding her “Protecting Women in Sports Act” legislation.
FEDERAL POLICY TAKING A TOLL
Federal policy is taking a toll on Wisconsinites. Assembly Republicans are making every effort to mitigate the damage.
With a strained workforce offering more jobs than there are those willing to work, Rep. Dittrich supports Sen. Steve Nass’ call to return the requirement for those receiving unemployment to search for a job.
Inflation is definitely on the rise. Returning those on unemployment to work will help mitigate the fiscal toll federal policy is taking on Wisconsinites.
TAX DEADLINE COMING
Don’t forget MONDAY, May 17th is tax day this year!
CONSTITUENT CORNER
Rep. Dittrich offered her support for students and parents who have become politically engaged on the local level.
Hard copies of the survey should be hitting mailboxes this week. Save yourself a stamp and answer online.
