TEAM 38TH ASSEMBLY DISTRICT LEAVES IT ALL OUT ON THE FIELD

LEGISLATIVE ACTION

ASSEMBLY FLOOR SESSION

The Assembly agenda focused on education, including a bill that requires schools to incorporate civics education into elementary through high school grades. Bills were also taken up prohibit the teaching and training of highly divisive concepts on racism and sexism.

Given her previous and ongoing advocacy, Rep. Dittrich was glad to see SB 103 passed in both the Senate and Assembly. She is confident will be signed by the governor in the coming weeks.

PRO-LIFE, PRO-INCLUSIVE LEGISLATION INTRODUCED

While Rep. Dittrich appreciates the angst and fear of a woman seeking an abortion, she wants to encourage and support women, even helping them to make the difficult decision to place a child for adoption if they feel unable to parent the child. We need to restore hope to women with an unexpected pregnancy rather than making them think that killing their child is their only option. If we wouldn’t discriminate after birth, we surely should not prior to birth.
That's why she was pleased to introduce legislation with her esteemed Senate colleagues that preserve life and restore hope.

TRANSFORMATIONAL "REEMPLOYMENT" LEGISLATION INTRODUCED

As we've seen by the governor's NINE MONTH DELAY in actually hiring a firm to update the Department of Workforce Development's unemployment system, leadership and reform are desperately needed to address Wisconsin's workforce challenges. That is why Rep. Dittrich did not hesitate to sign on as a co-sponsor of this comprehensive legislation.

IN THE CAPITOL

SENATE SCHOLAR VISIT

Rep. Dittrich was happy to greet constituent Wesley from Deerfield, who was in Madison as part of the Senate Scholars Program. He was eager to witness firsthand what takes place on the Senate floor during session. Rep. Dittrich loves seeing our next generations become educated and activated in the legislative process.

CONVENTION OF STATES

It was great to connect with Rick Santorum while he was here for the Convention of States "Fill the Hill Rally" Capitol. We passed AJR 9 through the Assembly in May. Now it's time for the State Senate to take it up. If the past 18 months don't show how much States need to restrain abuses of power by the federal government, nothing will.

TAIWAN FRIENDSHIP CAUCUS

Rep. Dittrich was honored to attend a bipartisan, bicameral meeting marking the establishment of the Bipartisan Taiwan Friendship Caucus in the Wisconsin State Legislature.

We welcomed special guest, Ambassador Hsiao Bi-Khim of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States. This partnership is especially important to our state as Taiwan is the ninth largest trade partner to the US, and second only to Canada as an importer of US agricultural products. Wisconsin's ginseng is especially desirable to their nation. As the 38th Assembly District is an agricultural jewel in this state, Rep. Dittrich looks forward to seeing this partnership continue to strengthen and grow.

HOMESCHOOL GROUP VISIT

Wisconsin State Senator John Jagler and Rep. Dittrich had the pleasure of welcoming these homeschoolers visiting the Capitol from Marshall, Lake Mills, and Waterloo. It's a treat to have school groups back in the Capitol for tours!

ELECTIONS

Special Counsel Michael Gableman has served subpoenas to the administrator of the Wisconsin Election Commission, the executive director of the Milwaukee Election Commission, and four city clerks as part of his probe into the 2020 election.

IN THE DISTRICT

EAGLE SCOUT CEREMONY

Rep. Dittrich found it a treat to attend Kaleb Regoli's Eagle Scout Court of Honor yesterday to present him with flags flown over the State Capitol. For Kaleb's Eagle Scout project, he built and installed benches made of recycled plastic with in cooperation with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, for the Glacial Drumlin State Trail trailhead park in downtown Deerfield.

What a gift Kaleb has left for the community and the state to enjoy at a time where people's spirits need the refreshment of soaking in nature! Congratulations, Kaleb! We look forward to seeing where your leadership skills will lead you in life.
