A STRONG FINISH TO JULY

VETO OVERRIDE ATTEMPT

Tuesday, the Assembly convened in special session. Rep. Dittrich was proud to be one of the 59 legislators on the floor of the Assembly who voted to override the governor's veto on an end to enhanced unemployment (which is no longer needed).

Long waits for service, shortened hours of operations, inflation, "Going Out of Business" signs, and being paid to sit on the couch will sadly continue thanks to the Democrats sitting to her right in this photo on the floor of the Assembly today. At least she can sleep with a clear conscience knowing that she firmly supported and defended her constituents' wishes on bringing the enhanced unemployment to an end.

GOVERNOR CALLS YET ANOTHER SPECIAL SESSION

The Assembly also gaveled in and gaveled out of the governor’s special session attempting to pour millions more into public education.

Rep. Dittrich will not vote to throw more money at an educational system that received ample funds in the budget. More constituents have told her that they're not happy with the increase the Legislature has already given public schools than have told her the state should spend even more.

She will again remind people, there is no correlation between student outcomes and spending. It's past time that Wisconsin's educational bureaucracy stop focusing on dollars and start focusing on methods that help students reach proficiency in science, technology, English, and math.

ELECTION INTEGRITY

With new statements by colleagues and confusing news stories, Rep. Dittrich has been receiving new contacts from constituents regarding what the Legislature is doing regarding election integrity.

Please know that Wisconsin actually has had a much more in-depth going on than Arizona since February of this year. Republicans have also taken other measures to make the process more secure for Wisconsin voters. It is difficult to be patient, no doubt, but we expect to receive the results of the audit some time this fall.

Please also be aware that today Speaker Vos expanded his ongoing investigation under the authority of former State Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman.

TORNADO HITS THE 38TH

Thank you to our first responders, town leaders, county officials, Wisconsin Emergency Management, and governor for your speedy response to this week's devastating EF-1 tornado that hit the Town of Concord in the 38th Assembly District.

Rep. Dittrich had been in Madison for a committee hearing prior to touring the damage with Governor Evers and other officials.

Thank you also to the myriad volunteers who came out to help saw trees and clean up debris. Community makes ALL the difference at a time like this!

MORE ATTENTION BEING GIVEN TO COVID-19 AGAIN

CAN YOUR EMPLOYER REQUIRE YOU TO GET THE VACCINE?

Constituents have been once again asking if employers can require employees to take the COVID-19 vaccine as a condition of their employment. This article gives a clear, concise answer to that question. Please know that various bills challenging vaccination requirements are currently going through the legislative process but have not made it to the floor for a vote yet.

PARENTS' GROUP REJECTS NEW MASK MANDATE

For the past 18 months, parents have been in constant contact with Rep. Dittrich about the status of their children during this COVID-19 outbreak.

This week, they reached a breaking point and united around the state to make their voices heard. PARENTS will not allow their rights to be usurped when it comes to their children's health and education. [In the interest of full disclosure, this research piece was written by my daughter, who is an adult living outside my home. A parent constituent forwarded the article to me.]

DISPOSING OF MASKS

Rep. Dittrich would like to share again as she has numerous times over the past 18 months, PLEASE dispose of masks properly or use a cloth mask.
